The member area, final steps: account security — signed-in devices can be logged out, avatar and signature sanctions finally apply — and notifications, moved into the member area with each member choosing what they receive. The member area overhaul is complete.
Added
- "Security" shows the devices where the account is signed in, and lets you log them out: each session with its browser, system, IP address and last activity, "This device" for the one you are looking from; "Log out" for another one, or "Log out all other devices". Until now, "Security" only showed the sign-in history, and a session open elsewhere could not be closed. On a demo site, whose account is shared, no session can be closed.
- Each member chooses the notifications they receive, in "Notification preferences": one box per kind of
notification (a private message, a reply in a followed topic, a mention, a comment, a reaction, an event
reminder…) to receive it on the site, and a "By email" box for those the site also sends by email (private
messages, forum replies and mentions). Without any setting, they receive everything, as before. For module
authors: a module declares its own through
types_de_notification()(see the module creation guide). - "My notifications" joins the member area, under the "Notifications" entry of its menu, twenty per page: the
page lived apart, at
/notifications, and only showed the last fifty (now up to the last five hundred). The old address leads to the new one.
Fixed
- Avatar and signature sanctions now apply. A moderator could issue them, but the profile never checked them: a sanctioned member changed their avatar and signature as before. They now see what the sanction forbids, its reason and until when.
- Eight core data models always read their own table (sessions, sign-in history, addons, translations, logs…): loaded from a module, they looked for a table that does not exist. Nothing showed it on screen yet; the new device list would have. It is the same flaw as the one behind the favicon and deleted files, fixed in 1.2.29.
- A muted forum mention no longer swallows the reply. A member mentioned in a topic they follow received nothing when the mention was off for them — the mention email turned off by the site ("Notify @user mentions by email"), or mentions turned off in their preferences. They now get the reply. When the mention does reach them, it stands in for the reply, so they are not notified twice.
