The member area, first step of its overhaul: a single frame, a single menu, settings where you would expect them. And the marketplace no longer offers a site an addon made for a newer version of NeoFrag.
Added
- A new password must be at least 10 characters long. It is refused if it repeats the username, uses only one or two different characters ("aaaaaaaaaa", "ababababab") or is one of the most common passwords ("qwertyuiop", "1234567890"…). The rule applies at sign-up, when changing it and at reset (at reset, the username is not compared). Existing passwords stay valid.
Changed
- The member area has a single frame and a single menu. It changed shape from one page to the next — a menu on the left under the profile card, a folded "Menu" bar at the top, nothing at all — and one page had three names. The account pages now all have the same menu, in the same place: a column on the left on a computer, a scrolling strip of tabs on a phone, the current page highlighted. The menu also leads to the modules' pages: messages and notifications with their unread counts, forum subscriptions (which no link reached), moderation. The top bar of the Blockcraft, Extend, Forge and Granite themes and the "Member area" widget use this menu, with the same words.
- Settings are where you would expect them. "My account" gathers the username, email address, password, language (which could only be chosen with the site's language switcher) and time zone (which sat in the middle of the public profile); "Security" keeps two-factor authentication and the login history; a "Privacy and data" page holds the export of your data and the deletion of your account, filed until now under "Security (2FA)".
- "My space" opens on a compact header — avatar, username, groups, "View my profile" and "Edit my profile" — instead of the large profile card, which pushed the menu a whole screen down on a phone.
Fixed
- The marketplace no longer offers a site an addon made for a newer version of NeoFrag. Only updating an addon checked the NeoFrag version it requires, not installing it: a site that had fallen behind could install an addon calling functions its version did not have, and break. The official marketplace now sends each site the catalog made for its version (a site older than all the catalogs kept gets the oldest one). The marketplace window also leaves out an addon that is too recent and says to update the site first. The "Updates" button announces a new NeoFrag version from the Monitoring update check, no longer only from the catalog.
- The favicon chosen by the administrator is also the site's icon on a phone, and a deleted file really leaves the disk. An internal error kept the site from finding these files: the favicon was missing when adding the site to a phone's home screen (with a warning in the log each time), and the file of an attachment deleted from the forum or private messages stayed on the disk and in the database, as did the avatar and cover of a member who erases their account.
