The Discord bot (version 0.1.0), which connects a site and its Discord server:
- roles and usernames — a member who has linked their Discord account gets, on the server, the roles linked to their groups, and loses them on leaving those groups; if the option is checked, their server nickname is their site username. The site is authoritative, and a role that nothing is linked to is never touched;
- forum ↔ Discord Forum channel, in both directions — a site topic becomes a thread, a thread becomes a topic; replies, edits and deletions follow. Messages coming from the site appear under their author's name and avatar; those from Discord, under the linked member's account or under their Discord username. Channel by channel: sync everything, or only the threads a moderator marks with a reaction.
It is a separate program (Node.js 22.9 or later, on a machine that is always on), shipped in its own archive with each version. On its machine it keeps only the site address and an access key. Guide: "The Discord bot" in the wiki.

The Discord module (optional, requires the API module): the bot key, stored encrypted, the server, the on / pause switch, restart, the bot's status (online, paused, offline) and its log in the administrator's language, the channel ↔ forum and group ↔ role mappings, and the link that invites the bot with only the permissions it needs — never "Administrator".

API: the
discord:botpermission and thediscord/*endpoints the bot needs.
