Added
- Settings → Search engines: for each language, the tagline of the home page title and the description shown by search engines; a share image (1200 × 630) for previews on Discord, X or Facebook; the verification codes for Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools.
- One sitemap per language, gathered at the root (
/sitemap.xml): each module lists its own public pages there — the blog, the forum and its topics, the wiki, the gallery, the calendar, the events… —, only those a visitor can read and that exist in the sitemap's language. - On the home page, structured data describing the site, its logo and its social networks.
Changed
- Member profiles and the member directory are no longer offered to search engines, nor are search results: little content, and a member should not end up in Google without having chosen to.
Fixed
- The sitemap only contained relative addresses — ignored by search engines —, in a single
language, without the wiki or the forum;
robots.txtannounced it with a relative address. - Each Blog page declared
/articles/…, a redirect, as its canonical address; the home page,/index. The links between languages are complete, with the default version (x-default). - The home page title no longer repeats the site name ("NeoFrag Reborn | NeoFrag Reborn").
- Google Analytics: the setting only accepted the old
UA-…format, which Google discontinued in 2023; it accepts the current IDs,G-…. - Browser language: a visitor whose browser only announces
de-DElands in German, and not in the site's default language. - The language selector and the "This content does not exist in …" banner, from the Blog, led to its old address.
Security
- The full addresses in the page head (canonical, languages, sharing) are built from
the site address, and no longer from the request's
Hostheader, which anyone can forge.
